The early issues of this Gift Set featured a green Bentley with red wheels, together with the white Lotus Elan S2 for Mrs Peel. These Bentleys are quite hard to find now so it is good to have this one which is in good condition.
You need to be a little careful with these as some people take the 9001 model and change the wheels. That was a slightly different shade of green however and there are usually signs where the RN or flag decals from the 9001 have been removed, and often a replacement hood is fitted in place of the full hood that would have been fitted before, with marks on the axles or wheels too. This example I can guarantee is original.
The horn has been replaced but otherwise the model is totally original. The Lotus is all original and is a nice example, to which I have added the correct registration plates.
Both Steed and Mrs Peel are original figures, not replacements, making this quite a special set to have, with just the box and umbrellas being new. The box is the best that can be found at the moment, really well finished and not too bright, with the correct colour and weight of card too. It has been professionally produced by someone who knows what they're doing and who concentrates only on this and one or two others.
The umbrellas are pretty indistinguishable from originals so this makes a superb display item too.
The Lotus and Bentley do have signs of playwear but really not that significant. The white paint does show up every small mark, of course, but the Lotus does have a nice clear screen, clean wheels and interior.
Because this has several items that are not that easy to find these days the price is a little higher than my other sets but I believe it is worth it.
