To buy this set in an original box would cost over £1500 these days so this is a much more affordable option - original cars in a nice reproduction box.
The Mini Cooper is very good, with just a bit of wear to the paintwork. It has excellent windows, wheels and suspension. The decals on the doors are original and there are no signs of touch-ins.
The Rover 2000 is excellent with clean paintwork all round, although it has had a few chips painted over. The windows are excellent, including the rear window which often has a crack where the Trans-o-lite system joins. The decals are also all original. The wheels and suspension are all excellent too.
The Citroen DS23 is not so good, having had a varnish of some sort applied at some time in the past. Efforts have clearly been made to remove it but without much success. It is, however, one of the few examples you'll find now with an original and intact aerial. The decals are all original. The wheels and suspension are all excellent. Perhaps someone can restore this one?
The box is pretty good and one of the better ones available. There aren't many, probably because those who would like to make the box can't get hold of a decent original to copy! The card is a little thick and the blue perhaps a bit too dark but the inner display tray is very nice and accurately produced.
All in all this is a good set and reasonably priced as I have included the original 323 box. These are quite hard to find. The flaps are missing at one end but it is otherwise very crisp and clean. If you do manage to find a better Citroen for the set display then you'll be able to sell the damaged one in this box for a similar price. I have also advertised this separately and will replace it if I find another and adjust the price accordingly
