These can be easily confused at first glance. 55 is the first Fordson with headlamps attached to the sides of the radiator grill. It also has fixed axle steering which is a bit unrealistic. The next model is 60 which has headlamps inside the grill and a nice parallel type of steering. Later the Ford 5000 will appear as 67 with jewelled lamps. Luckily that’s blue and grey so easy to spot! (Interestingly, the steering reverts to fixed axle type, though.)
This is a good example of the early edition of this Fordson tractor with orange metal wheels. There are a few marks on this, some chips on the bonnet and tiny marks here and there but it looks lovely on display.
This was not issued with a driver. It has a good replacement exhaust but is otherwise totally original and comes with an original box too. The box is complete, with all flaps present but is a little worn and crushed in places and has some stains with some slight tearing. It has a 6/6d price at one end.
