The Series I editions can be found with a headboard and then without a headboard. Each edition is also available with smooth wheels or shaped wheels. This particular example is one of the 'headboard' types with shaped wheels.
The editions with no headboard had a canopy featuring the RAC logo and text which had previously been on the headboard. This has a very nice original canopy and, unusually, an original complete aerial too, so often missing, and the tin hook is still present. There is an original RAC logo on one side of the canopy and the headboard has an original Radio rescue text transfer too.
The combination of headboard, which would indicate the earlier casting, and shaped wheels, which indicate later production, is a bit surprising and just one of the several varieties for this model. This particular example is excellent, with just small chips to the paintwork but great windows, wheels and tyres and a clean base.
