One of the very last Corgis made in 1:43 scale in the era that I deal with was this VW Beetle, now with 1300 stamped on the base where there used to be 1200 and with an enormous and quite ghastly steering wheel erupting from its roof!
You'll find this issued as both #400 and #401, the latter getting a bag of small cones to knock over as you steer the model around. It is quite a nice model, apart from the protrusion, finished in a glorious metallic blue, bright silver base and bumpers featuring the L plate holders and bright gold cast, 8-spoke wheels.
This particular example is a scarcer German expert edition with Fahr Schule on the door stickers each side in place of the British version which has Driving School. It has a number of chips here and there but the colour disguises them somewhat and it does actually look nice on display. The windows are crisp and clean too. I can't recall whether this model did actually have suspension and suspect it didn't. Whatever the case this one is solid and seems to sit exactly as it should.
