An interesting item - the Lotus Elan Open Top from the Lotus Racing Team Gift Set with spoked wheels on the detachable chassis.
The paintwork is excellent with only minimal signs of wear and the screen is excellent with a nice clean interior.
I imagine that the wheels have been switched at some time in the past, rather than this being a factory release or it may be a sample. The chassis has a few chips to the chrome finish but is still in good condition and the release mechanism works well. I found the chassis fitted to a red and cream Lotus but that was in poor condition so I have transferred it to this model as I think these wheels really do suit the car - and do so rather better than the cast, spoke effect, wheels which were fitted later in the Gift Set 318's life.
This may be a unique item, certainly unusual, and priced to take account of the significant value of the green model with detachable chassis which would normally sell for £70.
