This is the first type 261 and is in really excellent condition. Everything looks and works fine and it comes in a complete top quality reproduction box which is impressive.
It is the version without side lights in the casting. The screens are very clear and undamaged and the paintwork all original. So often these days these models have been either touched up or repaired. It is very difficult to see any faults in the paintwork apart from some small chips at the very front when viewed from a low angle.
The suspension is excellent - unusual these days as it is provided by plastic elements which become brittle over the years - and the wire wheels are really attractive and free of dirt or dust.
The roof can be persuaded to life flat with some effort and patience but it does not always behave itself! It does fly up when the eject button pressed, though! I will wrap th baddie, which is an original, separately to avoid it getting caught in the interior in transit which can cause problems with ejection. It is always best to keep him out of the model when it is being moved around as if he slips sideways it can interfere with the spring mechanism and many models now suffer as a result.
This one has been very well cared for and you will find it hard to a better one these days.
