This is the second edition of the Milk Tanker, the first one, 1129, having the Bedford S Type cab. This has the Bedford TK cab and was only produced from December 1965 to sometime in 1966, a very short run and the records show just 20000 made. This is less than half of the yellow Ghia Fiat Jolly and similar in numbers to the 500 US Army Land Rover and 1135 Military Machinery Carrier. Examples that are all original and in good condition are hard to find.
This example is all original and has very good, clean paintwork. The decals on the tanker sides and rear end are very good and there are only a few very small chips. The cab has good suspension and the shaped wheels all round are very good with good tyres in the correct size. The screens are all clean and clear of scratches with no cracks. There is really only one fault and that is the missing nearside mirror.
I do have another cab that is in more play-worn condition but which does have both mirrors and can either replace the cab or supply both with a price adjustment. You may be able to repair the missing mirror using the second cab. Contact me for details about this if required.
The base of the tanker unit is very clean and the top section is too. This usually gets filled with dust and grime over the years but I have managed to clean this one very well.
As it stands, the cab is otherwise really nice, with an excellent tanker element - a really good and totally original example of a hard-to-find model.
