The first 1101 Transporters had no suspension on either the cab or the trailer. In late 1962 it was replaced by 1005 which had the new Bedford TK cab and the trailer gets suspension and slight design changes. It appears that during 1962 there were productions of a transition model which had a Big Bedford cab, with shaped wheels and the grey base with two rivers but no suspension or interior still, and a trailer with suspension.
This is an example of that transition issue.
Despite the comparatively short period of production, they seem to be relatively common and, of course, no-one can really be sure that someone hasn't simply matched two components of other issues. The cab with its shaped wheels and different base type does indicate a late issue, however.
This one has plenty of wear but is all original and operates correctly.
