This item was usually sold in sets with at least the Missile included and often other related items. The individually boxed 1116 Launcher is significantly rare, production figures being the lowest of all (that we have data for) apart from the Corporal Missile Launching Platform. At just 8000, you can appreciate its scarcity when models like the Whizzwheels 281 purple Rover 2000TC and 242 yellow Fiat Ghia Jolly had more than six times as many made at 48000. So these items in the 1116 box are much sought after and seldom appear on the market.
This example is like new with no sign of having been played with. The box is bright and complete with only minor wear and ageing evident. One edge of the top section has a split. The lower yellow section is very good and undamaged, with the lower original packing piece in place. A fine example of Corgi engineering from this era that was issued in December 1959 and available only for another year.
