This is an extremely rare item.
It is 611 Motel Chalet Kit - white, brown, red, complete with deck-chairs, table and umbrella - and its overall condition is generally excellent (apart from very slight damage) in an excellent plain brown lift off lid box (slight rusting to staples), this was sent from Corgi as a made up kit to North American Toy Shops to promote the new Corgi Kits range - very, very hard to find as not many have survived.
I have included a screen print of a Vectis auction in 2007 when this sold in the Ron Slyder Collection for £240, or about £320 when auction fees and packing were added. This is the model sold at that auction as the box detail shows and it has ben carefully stored in the meantime. That would be the equivalent of about £500 today.
The damage referred to is one small hinge is missing from the door although it still opens and closes well, the 'MOTEL' sign is missing and also a tiny bottle should accompany the glass on the table. The parasol pole has been glued in position and the top will be removed for packing to prevent breakage. It can be refitted quite simply.
Otherwise the model is delightfully clean and professionally completed. The box is plain thick card with handwritten 611 and Motel on the lid. It is complete and, other than where tape has been torn to open it, the card is very much as it was in the 1960s.
This is a delicate item and, whilst I can wrap it carefully, there is a lot to be said for collection or delivery in person if you are within a few hours travelling distance. Interested parties should contact me so I can arrange the best option to preserve this very valuable model. (This store may suggest postage rates but please, in this instance, ignore them and do contact me, please.)
