A lovely version of the Corgi model by Auto Pilen.
This is the dark metallic blue-grey edition and is in really excellent condition with no faults that I can detect on the model in a complete but slightly worn original box. The screens are clear and clean and are the type with engraved windscreen wipers. The black interior is very clean. The opening doors operate very nicely. The engine cover opens to reveal a delightfully detailed and chromed engine and at the back there is an opening hatch as well as movable parcel shelf inside.
This is a superb copy by the Spanish company and in some ways is better than the Corgi original, especially in the interior detailing which is wonderful. The wheels and general production quality is excellent too and makes a lovely collectors' item.
These models were made with a base that has screws so repairs and replacement of some elements can be achieved much more simply than with the rivetted Corgis. However, I believe this is entirely original.
