A lovely version of the Dinky 187 model by Auto Pilen. I had purchased this thinking that it was a copy of the Corgi 271 but I got that wrong! However, it will appeal to both groups, I believe.
This is the silver-plated edition and is in excellent condition with the only faults that I can detect being a crack in one of the engine cover panels. The screens are otherwise clear and clean and are the type with engraved windscreen wipers. The red interior is very clean. This has the added extra of opening doors and these operate very nicely. The two engine covers in the rear section also open to reveal a delightfully detailed an chromed engine with golden elements.
These models were made with a base that has screws so repairs and replacement of some elements can be achieved much more simply than with the rivetted Corgis. However, I believe this is entirely original. You could, though, replace the cracked pane, for example.
