This is a very rare model.
The Corgi 1965 Catalogue shows both the 303S and 304S models with spoked wheels but I had only ever seen one in many years of searching. I had come to conclusion that Corgi had fitted their cast 'spoke-effect' wheels instead as models with those wheels are not so difficult to find. However, I did eventually come across one which sold for several hundred pounds at an auction and finally found one which also had the very scarce gold mirror finish, quite distinct from the normal silver finish. Now this one has appeared with the silver finish.
This example is in very good condition, showing a few chips to the bodywork. The screen and side windows have survived with just a small crack to the screen at one side. The interior in pale beige and dark brown is very clean. There should be a driver but he is presently missing. I hope to add one in due course.
Suspension on these models was a strange affair which is very solid and I know several people who have listed these as the older models thinking that there was none! The wheels are fine and tyres look original. The base is rust-free and very clean. Shadows may make the model appear worse than it actually is, being in fact very clean and tidy.
This is genuinely completely original and something quite special which you will not find again very easily unless you happen to be lucky. It is currently without a box but I hope to include one and may make an adjustment to this listing at that time.
