In the Corgi catalogue for around 1965/66 there is a 309 model shown with wire spoked wheels. I ahve not yet been able to find a real model or even to establish whether this was ever actually made either. So I thought i would try and make one myself. I could not bear to mess around with a 309 model in good condition and to attempt to match the colours of the Competition Model is not at all something i would be good at, so I have merely produced this whire version. That also ensures that no-one can accuse me of trying to restore a model or pretend it is original!
It looks very smart indeed and I shall be more than happy to keep it if no-one decides to add it to their collection. I may well attempt the real one next if I can find a decent example at a reasonable price. They are usually so expensive!
