This is the model that really set the standards in 1961, with so many new features that had not been seen before. This was the first with jewelled headlamps, jewelled rear lights too, the first with chrome-plated fittings, the first with the superbly engineered steering system and even the first with a spare wheel!
There are essentially two colours available: a black and grey and a very pale green or cream and olive green. This is the olive green and cream colour. A gold edition was made for Gift Set 20.
This is in really nice condition, the all-important emblem is intact and fully chromed, the windows are clean and clear and the wheels shiny. There is, of course, a good spare in the boot too. There are tiny marks to the paintwork but not at all obvious on display, just showing in some photos.
There is no wear to the chrome over-riders and the tyres are correct originals. This is a great chance to purchase this nice model. It comes with a superb reproduction box made by a colleague in Australia for whom I provided an original sample and specification.
One of the images demonstrates the clear difference between the pale green and cream paint finish.
