This is a very scarce item, a 207 Standard Vanguard finished in pale yellow and red rather than teh usual pale green and red. It is believed that this was produced at the time when the mechanical 207M model was discontinued but a batch of bodies, painted in the pale yellow-cream that was one of the shades for the 207M model, had the red roof added as was the normal addition for the 207, and a normal base fitted. In this instance the later grey base has been used which would be correct as examples of the pale green edition with the red roof and frames and smooth wheels are also known with a grey base.
Very few of these have come to light and numbers that were produced are likely to be very small in total but this was a model that made its way into normal 207 boxes and to dealers to be sold as normal, not a factory sample or error, as some variations may be.
This will be missing from many collections and is currently in my own personal collection. A better example sold for over £1200 at auction recently and I would like to keep this unless someone is prepared to pay the comparatively high price I need to let it go.
This one is clearly play-worn but it is completely original, with good, clear windows and clean wheels and original tyres.
