This set always has a white Lotus Elan S2, similar to Emma's car in the early black and white series. The Bentley, however is usually one of two, a green Bentley with red wheels or a red Bentley with steel or, sometimes, gold wheels. A rare alternative is this green Bentley with black mudguards and running boards.
This is not the 9004 edition from The World of Wooster set. That is a different shade of green and has an obviously deep red interior rather than this brown, which is the same as the other models.
The Bentley has good paintwork and is entirely original except for a piece of the offside mudguard that has broken. I have a replacement section and have temporarily attached it using black tape. This looks OK but I consider a strong glue will be a more satisfactory solution and I can discuss options with the buyer. With a model of such rarity some may prefer to leave it as it is.
The Lotus is all original too and the paintwork is excellent except for damage to the front nearside wing.
Both Steed and Emma are original characters.
It is worth mentioning that none of the three Bentleys referred to above are accurate in relation to what Steed drove! I do make sets using an all green Bentley with steel wheels and an adapted set using a silver-blue Lotus too which Mrs Peel had in the colour TV series episodes. You may also find sets that contain a 9001 model without transfers and with driver and hood changed, or a 9002 with driver, hood and wheels changed. Whilst is is feasible that these may have come from the factory on a Friday afternoon, most examples of this combination are likely to have been created afterwards.
