From 1966, the Oldsmobile casting gets an extended life as the Thrushbuster car from the Man From U.N.C.L.E. TV series. There were two editions, the first in cream and then the vast majority were produced in a deep blue shade. The blue models also seem to have a different bonnet, with a raised edge around the panel where the sticker goes. They also have a different treatment of the bottom of the A pillar and bodywork in that area. Many people seem to be trying to cash in on the significantly more valuable cream model by spaying their blue models white. Wrong on two counts - the casting and it should be off-white or cream anyway - so do please look out for these.
This example is a nicely entirely original blue edition with just one shiny plastic search lamp and is in otherwise super condition. This is the early edition with shaped wheels, not cast.
It is an odd model with no suspension. The top switch operates correctly.
The front screen has a small piece missing but, as it already has bullet holes, this doesn't affect its appearance as would be the case for most models. The car seems too good to take apart and replace the screen and lamp and so it is offered at a very reasonable price for someone's collection.
