Some models that I get are just too worn or broken to be retained as originals but rather than discard them I try to bring them back to life with various spare parts and a fresh coat of paint.
I am not trying to restore any model, merely make it something someone might like to display again.
This is another person's high quality restoration work, finished in a gorgeous shade of metallic blue. He has also reshaped the rear end so that the boot line is flush with the rear edge. Quite why he has done that I don't know but i suspect it may better match the later editions of the real models. Anyway, it is in super condition with the correct white roof and white interior, and cast wheels on the detachable chassis.
