I never really wanted either this or its hard-top cousin. I’m not sure why as it is a reasonably good model of an excellent sports car. It might have been the absence of seats in the hard top and a the uninspiring colours they used.

There are several versions of this. It started as this white car without suspension in 1958, getting the unique to 303S / 4S suspension in 1961. There are white and blue versions as well as silver and a driver gets added in 1962.

This one comes from an old collector in the States and is in really marvellous condition. It has been one of the last to find, not because they are not around but because nearly all have damaged windscreens (if they’re not immaculate in a box and going for hundreds of pounds!)

This, therefore, is just right. It has tiny chips on the side raised edge but these are barely noticeable and it really is a fine example with excellent wheels and tyres. There is some rust on the tin base which many suffer from.
