A limited number of models were produced by Corgi for Marks & Spencer and promoted as 'Trophy' models. They were supplied in a box with a display base, although they have invariably been lost now. The range comprised the Vanwall and BRM Racing Cars 150 and 152 and the three sports cars, Austin Healey, Triumph TR2 and MGA, 300, 301 and 302. Idnetical to the Corgi issue but finished in plated silver or gold and all models were fitted with the cast 'spoke-effect' wheels.
They are all quite scarce now, some more than others. The TR2 is seldom seen and this is a super example which I obtained from a fellow collector.
It has a good, bright finish, original steering wheel and an original screen too. There is the correct red painting on the radiator and seats.
