This was the second model to have Golden Jacks, a smart device that enabled the wheels to be take off, with a spare also included in the opening cover element fitted to the boot lid. It was based on the 252 model but now has jewelled lights and chrome bumpers and grille, as well as a curious orange sunroof that I really don't recall seeing on any of these motors when I was younger.
It was mainly available in metallic sage-green with a brown interior, with less common editions having a red or white interior. A smaller number were produced in white with a red interior and these are quite scarce now.
This is a super example although the photos really do not do it justice at ll. On display it looks lovely and those chips simply are not as obvious as they seem to appear here! It is, though, all original and has not been repainted as many now seem to be. The jacks work well and the wheels are all original and of the correct Rover type. Of particular note is the spare wheel carrier which is not only original but also intact. Usually by now the lid has become detached as the hinge is only brittle plastic.
The windows are clean and clear and the suspension is sound with correct original tyres also fitted.
