This is an example of the silver James Bond Aston Martin, an early edition with Type A wheels (that appear filled in rather than more see-through) and with a silver grille and bumpers so a Type 1 - an early one from nearer the start of its run.
It is in good condition with original paintwork and all features operate as they should apart from the ejector seat which requires some persuasion to pop up. The roof lies slightly raised as seems to be the case with so many of these models. It is totally original and not restored like many are nowadays. There are one or two small chips that have been touched in but they are not at all obvious and do not detract from its lovely appearance.
The windows are clear and have no cracks or scratches. The rotating number plates have some of the original plates still fitted. Some of the plates are a little worn and might benefit from replacement. The red plastic tyre slashers look crisp and clean and pull out smoothly, both being complete. The baddie is missing. If I find a spare I will replace him but at the moment it is sold as it stands.
The front grille and bumper is all original.
All in all this is one of the better examples I have had, and really does look good on display. Highly recommended if you need this for your collection. This edition is quite rare.
These Bond Aston Martins are complicated. Be careful to check what you're buying. Many are now being restored too. There are five main types that can be fairly easily identified:
