A new product from Hornby, the new owners of Corgi, and their attempt to reproduce the 261 issue from 1965. In many respects this is a nice model but it has some key differences: the wheels are chrome finished and not open wire as the original and it has the revolving number plates front and rear which did not appear until the silver 270 edition.
It is, of course, also manufactured in China, and not really from the range that I specialise in but I decided to take a look at how well the job had been done.
The box and tray are very good, with a 'secret' documents compartment where you'll find the envelope containing secret instructions and a nice lapel badge as well as the single baddie that is supplied with this version.
The package has been opened just once to take these photos and the model remains attached to the tray with its original wires and the packing pieces are still present.
