This is the export edition of 236. It has a quite different and darker shade of blue and a left-hand drive interior.
Otherwise it is the same model and has the strange big red thing on the roof. It's great fun and I really enjoyed steering this around my layout as a child. The very small wheels, however, give the car an unnaturally low stance and almost no ground clearance which made travelling on anything but smooth board tricky.
The steering mechanism is great and would be used in three Volkswagens later. The suspension on these was never very good but this one seems to be OK all round. The paintwork has some wear but it is all original with the paper L plates undamaged by cleaning. The windows are clean and clear apart from a small crack in the rear window. The silver paintwork is good and bright.
