These Mechanical models are quite scarce now, especially with a working friction motor. The Vauxhall Velox was always red and was available between 1956 and 1959 when it was discontinued.
This example has quite a few chips on the paintwork and the thick paint makes these look worse in some photos. On display in front of me here, it actually looks pretty good! The wheel are nice and shiny and tyres are all good. The windows, often messy on these models as they're not easy to clean, are fine, nice and clear and without scratches.
A nice model. The base is black with the oil hole and text style as shown. There are two types of the base. There are also two types of finish to the paint. This one has no silver fluting on the bonnet. The other red model currently available does have this feature.
