The first Thunderbird was a splendid model issued in 1959. It had a fairly short life, being replaced by 214S with an interior and suspension in 1961. At the end of production, shaped wheels started to be fitted to models and a few Thunderbirds got them in 1961.
This is a very rare model and extremely hard to find, especially in good condition because most owners did not appreciate what they had so it will have been tossed in the box like all the other common models.
This example is in very good condition with only small wear on leading edges and one or two marks to the paintwork and it has nice silverwork. The roof is good and the colours as new. The wheels are suitably bright and shiny and the windows clean and clear apart from one small crack at the rear..
Luckily, as they are almost impossible to change, the rear tyres are very good too.
This is expensive as it is so hard to find and is going to be missing from quite a few collections.
