The 211 model gets suspension and an interior and a bright gold or silver plated finish as the 211S. It's a great-looking model and has so much more appeal on the shop shelf now, giving a lot more life to the old casting. Indeed, it will go on to get a gold paint finish eventually.
This is a nice example of the gold-plated finish and is an early edition with the smooth fixed wheels. It is surplus to requirements because I bought it from a collector in New Zealand, thinking that it was the gold painted edition as that's what the photos had appeared to show. It is, however, the plated type so it has to go.
There is some slightly rough texture to the surface of the plating which often happens with these models but there is hardly any wear at all and it does look great on display as you can see from the photos.
The windows are all clean and clear with no cracks or scratches and the wheels are clean with good tyres. The base is like new still.
