In 2006 Corgi Classics produced a small number of the very first Corgi, the 200 Ford Consul, in four editions. Only 650 of these were produced in bright chrome so these are pretty scarce.
This is a superb example and looks as new in its original box and packing, together with the leaflet and number - this is No. 078.
The internal packing will be familiar to those who collect Vanguards, a rather sad piece of moulded thin plastic with another piece of moulded clear plastic to keep the model in place. The model is, of course, made in China too which would normally exclude it from my stock cabinets but I have to say that these four are exceptionally handsome and celebrating 50 years of Corgis may make them a worthwhile addition to yours.
